About us
Michaels Bridal Fabrics is a family owned and run business. The company was formed in 1996, originally offering cut lengths just on basic qualities, like satins, chiffons and satin back shantung. We moved the business from our home to our current location in January 2000. Around 2001 we started to significantly expand our range of better quality specialist fabrics like laces, embroideries and beaded fabrics. Then in 2004 we started running the edgings and motifs, of which we now offer over 200 designs. Many customers are now of the opinion that we have one of the most comprehensive ranges of bridal fabrics available in the UK.
We aim to offer a fast, reliable and friendly service on our very broad and varied range of fabrics and trimmings, suitable for all bridal applications as well as eveningwear/prom dresses and ball gowns. Most articles are in stock and are sent the same day as ordering on a 24hr delivery service (in the UK). We have no minimum order by length or value and we offer substantial discounts to customers who pay quickly. Most payment methods are accepted (debit/credit cards, BACS or cash into our account). We can accept payment in either sterling or euros.
We currently supply our fabrics to over 700 customers a year in over 20 different countries and source fabrics from over 25 suppliers in 12 countries.
We are able to supply to members of public, but for personal callers we offer an appointment service only. We do have some fabric shops that have our sample books, so if you would like to see if there is a stockist near you please e-mail us your address at
admin@michaelsbridalfabrics.co.uk.
We are located in Kent 5 minutes drive from Bluewater shopping centre, 7 minutes from the Dartford river crossing (M25) and since the opening of Ebbsfleet International train station last year (about 3 minutes drive) we are only 1hr 45m from Brussels, 1 hr from Lille and 2 hours from Paris by Eurostar. In late 2009 there will be a domestic train service from St Pancras to Ebbsfleet that will take just 20 minutes. Currently the nearest rail station is Northfleet. This station is mainly served by London trains running from Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge and Cannon Street, running on the line to Gravesend and Gillingham.
